JayClan and PaleClan have finally found a new territory after the tornado ravaged their old home of so many years. Their numbers are halved, and many of the ones who have survived are permanently injured or disfigured, similar to the land they have abandoned. But surviving on the road hasn't been any easier than surviving in their old home, now empty of both cats and prey, should have been. A rift between the two upset Clans still exists, and there are varied views on everything, from how close the Clans should become, to the existence of StarClan, from whom they never received a warning of the storm’s coming danger.
Not that StarClan never tried. Reedstripe, PaleClan's medicine cat, certainly received a prophecy, although for his own reasons, he never bothered to reveal it, a regrettable decision. But whether or not Reedstripe chooses to disclose the existence of a prophecy, he will draw fire from both the believers and the small, but potentially growing, group of non-believers. JayClan’s medicine cat’s reasons are unknown, because she was killed in the storm, and has left only her inexperienced and confused apprentice behind to take on their rank early. The position of medicine cat no longer holds any grandeur, and some cats even distrust the leaders, who they see as faking their right to leadership through belief of a ‘StarClan.’
The two Clans’ half-moon journey has brought in a few other displaced cats, whose addition to the group is debated as well. But bigger problems about the cats are inevitable. Now that the Clans have found a new territory, what kind of new social order will arise? There are cats against reforming a Clan under a 'StarClan-chosen' leader, and doubts exist everywhere. This time, things may be different, but whatever happens, there will still be a second storm, between the cats themselves.
