Name: Mottledstorm
Rank: Warrior
Gender: She-cat
Age: 42
Clan: PaleClan
Beliefs: Mottledstorm believes in StarClan through pure stubbornness; she believes that faith in StarClan is an essential part of what makes a warrior, well, a warrior--and a Clan a Clan. The unexpected, devastating storm shook her faith, no doubt about that, but Mottledstorm is determined and remains adamant. If any cat at all asked "Do you believe in StarClan?" she wouldn't hesitate one moment to say "Yes. I do."
Mentor/Apprentice: Shalepaw
Kin: Tinyfoot - Sister, fate unknown; Gingerspots - Mother, fate unknown; Darkclaw - Father, died in storm
Mate: None, nope.
Appearance: Mottledstorm is your normal tortoiseshell-and-white cat. She has a white chest and stomach, as well as white paws. You might find a bit of white on her face, but the rest of her is mottled black and ginger. Her face his black, save for a ginger patch around one eye, leading down to her nose. Most of the upper and lower portion of her back is black while the middle is mainly ginger--you can find spots of both colors all over, though.
Mottledstorm's tail is somewhat short, but not enough to affect her balance that much, and not significant enough to name her for it. Her fur is short but thick and she has somewhat long whiskers and rounded triangular ears.
Mottledstorm has a fairly stocky build. She's not lithe, that's for sure, but she's not quite as stocky as some of the other broad-shouldered cats. Still, she can, and usually is, considered heavyset.
Personality: Mottledstorm can be quite the grumpy she-cat. She has practically no tolerance for young cats--usually only apprentices, though; she gives young warriors some respect and makes sure she isn't too hard on kits(it's not that she has a soft spot for them; actually, she's just not too keen on having her head bitten off by a queen). She often refers to apprentices as kits, mostly by habit, usually to their displeasure. Having been a warrior since her twelfth moon, Mottledstorm has had several moons of experience and has mentored a couple apprentices before, but that doesn't affect how she feels about them.
Mottledstorm has a short temper, so you can't pester her long before she gets mad. And when Mottledstorm gets mad, she gets mad. Her bluntness and fierceness earned her the warrior name of Mottledstorm. She's not one to talk things out, either--if there's a border dispute she'd rather settle it with a fight, not a talk.
Mottledstorm is wholly against having rogues or loners join the Clan, and she's not at all afraid of letting her views be known. She's stubborn and a stickler to the warrior code. She also persists that StarClan is real and there, guiding their pawsteps, for without the belief in their ancestors, did they have the right to call themselves warriors? Mottledstorm shudders at the very thought. She wants to be nothing more than a loyal warrior--and she'll do whatever she has to to ensure that she is, too. Mottledstorm may seem like an ignorant she-cat, but in reality she just wants what she thinks is best for the Clan--moons of experience does not necessarily make a cat wiser, after all.
History: Mottledstorm had quite the dull history. Here's how it went:
Kithood.
Mottledstorm was born in a litter of two; she had a sister who was younger by mere heartbeats. Mottledkit was named what she was due to her, well, mottled coat. Her sister was named Tinykit because she was unusually small. The siblings' parents, Darkclaw and Gingerspots, were average warriors, nothing important. Mottledkit fought and played, but unlike most kits, she never once tried to sneak out of camp. From the start it seemed as it Mottledkit knew the warrior code.
Apprenticeship
As an apprentice, Mottledpaw did fairly well. She was average at fighting and hunting, excelling in neither, although she did do better in fighting by at least a fraction. She found the warrior code especially important and was horrified when she found out that Tinypaw, her sister, had fallen in love with a cat from JayClan--horrified and outraged. Mottledpaw confronted Tinypaw, and they argued fiercely, but Tinypaw would not sway--she would continue seeing the tom she loved no matter what. After that, a rift grew between the two sisters, who were once so close, and though they were made warriors together, they kept well apart during their vigil.
Warriorship
If Tinypaw, now Tinyfoot, thought she could trust her sister to keep quiet about her forbidden relationship, she was wrong. Sitting awake in silence all night does lead to a lot of thinking, and Mottledstorm decided that she had to confess to the leader what had happened. After all, it was against the warrior code and for the good of the Clan. But what the leader decided, she certainly wasn't expecting.
Tinyfoot was exiled from the Clan. She left silently, but she was obviously shocked that Mottledstorm had betrayed her. Also shocked and hurt was Gingerspots, who left on her own free will, joining her daughter in exile.
Mottledstorm forced herself not to regret her decision to betray Tinyfoot, because what could she do? What's done is done, right? After that she simply continued living her life.
And then the storm hit. Needless to say, it was very devastating. Mottledstorm ran for her life--no, for her Clanmates' lives, because what could be more important than the survival of her Clan? She got most of her Clanmates through and got herself through with only minor injuries, but not before witnessing her father separated from her when a fallen tree crashed in between them. Mottledstorm does not know if Darkclaw managed to escape, but she is presently choosing to believe that he is dead--the storm did have a devastating effect on the land, so how could he survive?
