Name: Turtlepaw
Rank: Apprentice
Gender: She-cat
Age: 6 moons
Clan: PaleClan
Beliefs: Since Turtlepaw is still quite young, she is still deciding whether or not to believe. Before the storm, she believed, if only because it was all she knew. Now that cats all around her are beginning to question and even renounce their beliefs, Turtlepaw isn’t so sure of what to think. At one side, she wants to believe, but she isn’t sure that she can. For now, to others, it seems she believes, though without fervor. Inside, a battle rages.
Mentor/Apprentice: LOOKING
Kin: Mother, Swiftwind, deceased. Siblings deceased.
Mate: None
Appearance:
Coat:
Turtlepaw’s coat is a mottled brown with white accents and black stripes. Her main undercoat is a tannish red, with different shades of brown intermixed in spots and splotches throughout her coat. Her chin and left cheek are white, and the white continues in a bib down to her chest. There, it tapers into a small white strip and fades into her belly. Her paws are also white, but the white reaches different parts of the leg. On her back paws, they reach all the way up to the hocks. On her right front paw, it reaches just to the ‘wrist’ of her leg. On the left leg, it hardly passes the toes. She also has a reddish brown spot around her nose.
Build: She has a normal build, not especially strong but not thin. Her back legs are slightly longer than the normal cat’s, which gives her a slightly awkward gait. The look of her legs is also added to by the white along her legs. Her whiskers and ears are also a little bigger than the normal cat, which makes her a fabulous tracker.
Personality: Turltepaw is a shy cat. But that's not all. She is very observant, and loves to watch other cats and the way they interact with one another. Often times she will sit at the edge of camp and watch, and because of this she knows much more about the individual cats in her clan than the average cat would. She knows their fears, their qualms, their joys and sometimes, their secrets. Even though she knows these things, she never tells another cat, and she never acts on it to hurt another cat. Being a great tracker, she often follows cats into the forest, and is good at staying unseen.
Turtlepaw's likes: Watching, tracking, thinking, running for long distances, pleasing other cats, squirrels.
Turtlepaw's dislikes: Speaking in front of other cats, interacting directly with others, conflict, crowds, mice, bugs.
History:
Turtlekit:
Turtlekit was born with two other kittens, of which she cannot remember the names. Her mother was Swiftwind, and Turtlekit loved her very much. She never knew her father, but never worried. She rarely wrestled with her siblings, and preferred to stay to herself. She often drifted to the medicine den, and, more often, the elder's den. She loved the stories they told, and she loved to care for them and do things for them so she could hear the stories. She even considered becoming a medicine cat, but quickly rejected the idea when her brother died from Whitecough. Turtlekit did not want that kind of disappointment in her life, and she did not want the clan to depend on her so much. So Turtlekit continued into the warrior apprenticeship with her remaining sister, Lillykit.
Turtlepaw: After Turtlekit became Turtlepaw, she started her training. Only days after her ceremony, the storm appeared. Her mother and sister were taken with the storm. She never saw her sister again, but she was there when her mother was buried. She has survived the trip, and is now starting her training again.
Turtlepaw's experience of the storm: Turtlepaw was lounging in camp when the storm arrived. When it started raining, she calmly headed into her den to escape the wet. She soon fell asleep. After a while, she was shaken awake by the loudest noise she had ever heard. Turtlepaw crouched into her nest, and buried her head between her paws. As she listened to the forest fall around her, she prayed to StarClan to make it stop. After a while, she gave up and just crouched by herself. A long while later, she realized that the storm was over. Turtlepaw was saved from a falling tree, only because it was propped up on another one, creating a small shelter. Turtlepaw emerged only to find her home, and clan, in pieces.
Picture: Sorry about the size, but it's the best picture I could find.
Roleplay Example: (I'm not sure where the roleplaying is right now, so I'll just do a generic post, morning, waking up, breakfast, patrol, ect.)
Turtlepaw was running, running. She didn't recognize the forest. She knew she was trying to find something but she didn't know what, or where, it was. She kept running until she came to an impenetrable wall of brambles. She looked for a way around, but there was none. She needed to go through. Turtlepaw sucked in her breath and held it, preparing for the scratches. She plunged into the bush, only to start falling into a never ending pit. Turtlepaw screeched, but to no avail.
"HELP!" Turtlepaw cried, jerking awake. For a moment, she didn't realize where she was. As she gained her bearings, her heart slowed and her breathing calmed. Turtlepaw sank back into her nest and put her head on her paws. Turtlepaw often had dreams, but they were never important. She talked to other cats, and found that they had dreams all the time. Turtlepaw finally realized she wouldn't be getting any more sleep, so she slowly crept over the other apprentices and headed out of the den. It was still a little bit before dawn, so Turtlepaw headed over to the fresh kill pile. She pawed through, until she found an acceptable meal. She carried her squirrel over to a secluded part of camp, and settled down to consume her breakfast and to watch the camp awaken.
