Yeah, tell me if you have any problems with anything. Hopefully Tangle isn't taken...
Name-Tanglefur
Age-
29 moons
Gender-She-cat
Clan-JayClan
Rank-Warrior
Apprentice-None
Kin-Sandclaw [mother], Spottedpaw[ sister, deceased], Brambletooth [brother]
Personality-As some say, looks can be decieving. At first glance, one may think that this she-cat is kindhearted... or at least decent. But no. Tanglefur has a vile personality, which developed on behalf of many horrid things that occurd in the past. Tanglefur has a tongue of poison. She snaps at any cat who dares to annoy her, or even look at her in some cases. Many cats try and avoid Tanglefur at all costs because, well, she just isn't very pleasent to be around. The cat has no friends, really. But she doesn't mind. If she were to have a friend, she would have probably bitten off their tail by now. Tanglefur is full of pure hatred, half toward herself, and the other half towards her mother, who had poisoned her mind as a younger cat. [<---- More on that later.]
Jealousy. Anger. Jealousy was a big factor in Tanglefur's life, as was anger. It caused her great discomfort with herself and with the cats around herself. Anger was the main reason that she had killed Spottedpaw, her sister. Her anger and envy had taken over all of her senses for many, many moon when she was younger, and still controls her now. It's a wonder that the Clan hasn't sent her into exile yet. She long ago deserved it. Tanglefur guesses that they keep her around in hopes that she would turn back into her old jubilant self, or maybe for her fighting skills. She fights with a furiosity and hate that any cat would be intimidated by.
Tanglefur doesn't believe in StarClan. Not one bit. Never will. Well, unless something life-changing occurs. But that is unlikely. It would be quite hard to change the ways of this cat, and it has been done before. It wasn't always this way. As an apprentice, Tanglefur was totally devoted to StarClan and their ways. Her paws had been set hard on their path, and had taken alot to waver her steps. As she grew older and her mind was taken over and poisoned, Tanglefur drifted further and further away from the starry ancestors until she eventually began to doubt their presence. Then, she rebelled. After her belief was completely frayed of StarClan, she began to act strangely. Her mind told her that her rebellion would help her get over the past and start a new life. Well, she certainly did start a new life, but memories still prowl through the she-cat's mind, forever haunting her.
She is suffering on the inside. She tries to hide her weakness with her personality. Tanglefur is constantly thinking back to the mistakes she has made in her life. The cat has strange internal conflicts with herself. Like, an angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other. She always sides with the devil. Tanglefur is too stubborn to be good, and listen to the goodness that whispers constantly into her ear. Oh, and on a random note, Tanglefur cannot tolerate kits at all. Her reason? Jealousy once again. Why would she be jealous of a kit, you ask? Their innocence, their happiness, their cuteness even. She wishes that she could go back and have a complete re-do of her life. Another chance of proving herself. This is not the way that she wants to live. Will the torture ever stop?
Appearance-Tanglefur looks like a pleasent cat to be around, with her bright golden eyes and her warm colors. (She isn't pleasent). She has very strange fur. It consists of tan, brown and black. The colors are swirled and twisted around eachother, creating interesting patterns down the cat's legs and back. There are small stripes on her face that outline her cheekbones and her forehead. The stripes then get thicker as they travel down Tanglefur's chest, then onto her legs where they turn into spots and blobs. There are bigger blots on her back, and a few defined stripes that run down the length of her spine to her tail. The markings on her tail are mostly stripes that run side-to-side, but there are a few dots here and there. Most of Mottledfur's spots are near her hindlegs, and on her feet.
The cat isn't your average RainClan cat. Tanglefur inherited her pelt from her father, with all of the markings, and her eye color from him as well. Her only similarity to her mother is her size, and the small bits of tan spots that she has. She has thin fur that clings to her skin. Her body is very long. She is shorter than some cats, but probably the longest in the Clan. Her legs are very long, also, which provide her with swiftness. Tanglefur is very agile and can outrun many of the cats in her Clan. She has a long tail that's about the same length as her body. The she-cats whiskers are quite long, and pointed down towards the ground. Her teeth are kind of small, except for her fangs. Tanglefur has unusually large fangs that stick out abnormally from her other teeth. She has short, thin claws that are like needles [if cat's knew of such things...].
History-Tanglekit
"How could she do that to us?"
As a kit, Tanglekit had two siblings. Spottedkit and Bramblekit. Their mother had stayed with the three, until they were weined off of her milk, and then she just... seemed to disappear. They often took care of eachother, seeing that their mother Sandclaw neglected taking care of them. She always seemed to be out, anywhere but there with them. Tanglekit had been ashamed of her mother, for leaving them like that. The other queens in the nursery had taken it upon themselves to watch over the abandoned kits, probably in pity. It used to be that Sandclaw would pop in every once in awhile, pretending to care about them, putting on an act for the other cats. Tanglekit found herself stuck in a rut. She wanted to believe that her mother cared for her and her siblings, but at the same time, she didn't want anything to do with the cat. Soon enough, Tanglekit's mother had disappeared altogether, and wasn't seen until a bit after the three were apprenticed.
Tanglepaw
"She's back."
--------x---------
Tanglepaw stopped dead in her tracks. Her chest tightened. "S- Sandclaw?" She gasped. She hadn't seen her mother for some time, because the cat had abandoned them while they were still young kits. Tanglepaw didn't know what to expect. Why would she show up now? "What are you doing here?" The apprentice narrowed her eyes at Sandclaw.
"Darling, please." Sandclaw purred, appearently trying to calm the apprentice. "This is my Clan. Why wouldn't I be here?" The ginger cat stepped closer to Tanglepaw, causing the cat to stumble backwards.
"Because you... you abandoned us! How could you come back here after what you have done?" Tanglepaw spat, her voice ringing with hostility. Her eyes burned evenly into her mother's. "Well? Explain yourself."
"Tanglekit-" The she-cat began, but was cut off.
"Tanglepaw, thank you very much!"
"Oh? You have been apprenticed! How proud I am of you, my lovely darling." Sandclaw purred, once again trying to calm the apprentice with her fake tone.
Tanglepaw thingyed her head to the side. What is she up to? The apprentice asked herself, but was beginning to fall for her mother's cheap hoax. Maybe she really does care for me! "So, tell me where you've been?" The cat challenged again, but in a gentler tone.
"That's more like it, Tanglepaw." Sandclaw whispered in her soothing voice. She cleared her throat. "No, you tell me something first. You really don't believe that I abandoned you, do you, sweet?" The cat demanded in a harsher tone, her eyes hardening like stone.
"W- well yes. What else would have happened!?" Tanglepaw exclaimed.
The ginger cat's eyes widened in disbelief and she hung her head. "It was hard enough being captured by a band of rogues, taken away from my kits. But now... now I've lost your trust! And Spottedki... paw and Bramblepaw's too!" Sandclaw moaned, despair seeping through her voice. Suddenly, her head snapped up to look at Tanglepaw. "How could you betray me like this?! I did nothing wrong. I raised you well, fed you, soothed you when you were in pain. But no! No respect for your mother who 'abandoned' you! It wasn't my choice to be stolen by rogues! I loved you all..." She hissed, her eyes clouded.
Tanglepaw flinched at her mother's change in attitude. Her sudden harsh tone had scared her, and made her feel quite strange. What was with her? Was she lying, or speaking the truth? "Sandclaw... I'm sorry, just.. what do you expect me to think when you disappear? Do you expect me to just let it go?"
Sandclaw's gaze hardened again, capturing Tanglepaw's frantic eyes in a trance. "Of course not, darling. But you could have tried." She muttered kind words, but her expression was like stone. This was beginning to scare Tanglepaw.
But the more she gazed into her mother's eyes, and listened to the sound of her voice, the more she was beginning to believe her mother.
--------x---------
This was the beginning of a new life for Tanglepaw and her two siblings. Eventually, Sandclaw had gotten Tanglepaw to believe her about everything, though nothing was really true at all (but she didn't know that). When she had explained everything to Bramblepaw and Spottedpaw, they hadn't believed her one bit, and were very hostile towards their mother. Sandclaw had tried to convince her other two kits (well... apprentices), but they had not listened, and became irritated.
"Why are you giving her those looks? My mother did nothing wrong."
The news that Sandclaw was back had spread through the camp like a wildfire. Soon enough, every cat knew that she was there, including the leader. Insert-prefix-here_star had actually accepted the she-cat's story, and she was invited to join the Clan once more. Tanglepaw, who had began to start liking her mother, was quite happy at this noise. But it seemed that she was the only one. After a bit, Tanglefur began to notice that she was the only cat who interacted with Sandclaw. None of the others muttered more than a sentence to the cat, and the apprentice felt taken aback. Why were they so hostile? Tanglepaw always tried to think of what she had thought the when she had found her mother in camp that day, but it was impossible. No really, it was utterly impossible. All she could think now were happy thoughts of Sandclaw. Sandclaw was speaking to her more and more, putting ideas in Tanglepaw's head, pulling her more and more away from the Clan.
"Just snap out of it already! You've been brain-washed!"
Sandclaw was occupying much of Tanglepaw's time, teaching her vile things, basically poisoning her mind. But the apprentice didn't understand what was happening to her. Her Clanmates were avoiding her, but Tanglepaw guessed that it was just because she was hanging around her mother, who they disliked. Tanglepaw grew a strong between her mother, and they were basically inseperable. But, she found herself only talking to her mother, no other cats. And everytime she tried talking to her brother or sister, they would insist on telling her to stop talking to Sandclaw, which irritated her greatly. What was so wrong with Sandclaw? Sandclaw had shoved a serious amount of crap into the apprentice's mind. She told Tanglepaw again and again how fake StarClan was, and how they never existed and it was all a hoax that the Clan was trying to get everyone to believe in. Of course, Tanglepaw had believed every word that her mother told her. Without realizing it, she had turned vile, poisoned. She was a different cat.
"Look what you've done."
Actually, Tanglefur had grown hateful. Her mother would whisper things in her ear that were about her Clanmates. Things that made her turn against them, though the whispers were lies. Soon, Sandclaw had lied and convinced Tanglepaw enough, that she completely hated her sister. Her mother had told her how proud she was of Spottedpaw, which made her jealous. She had told her that Spottedpaw was spreading rumors about her, and that was why everyone hated her. That made her angry. Something had to be done about this.
--------x---------
Tanglepaw watched from a tree as her sister bounded out of camp-- alone. She slithered from her place and stealthily hit the ground. Spottedpaw had appearently heard her, because the apprentice spun around to face her. "I thought I scented you, Tanglepaw. What were you doing in that tree?" She asked, her expression hostile.
"Waiting for you, actually." Tanglepaw spat, her eyes slits. She paced around her sister. "So, I heard you were spreading vile rumors about me! Why would you do such a thing?" She demanded, fire in her eyes.
"W.. what are you talking about? I didn't spread anything about you, I swear by StarClan!" Spottedpaw's eyes widened in horror. The she-cat's ears flattened against her head.
"StarClan!" Tanglepaw scoffed, hatred seeping through her voice. "StarClan has no place in my mind. Every cat knows that it is fake." She added with a snarl and stalked closer to her sister.
"W... what are you doing?" Spottedpaw gasped as she backed away from her kin. Her back foot got caught on a root, and the cat tumbled backwards, hitting the ground with a thud. She let out another gasp as Tanglepaw pounced upon her, pinning her down by her shoulders. "Tanglepaw! Snap out of it! You've been brain-washed!" The cat wailed, staring longingly into Tanglepaw's foresaken eyes.
"Brainwashed..." The apprentice muttered. "Brainwashed by who?! Sandclaw? No, I don't think so, Spottedpaw. You're the one who is trying to brainwash me! I don't want anything to do with you." Tanglepaw pressed her forepaws harder onto her sister's shoulders, causing the cat to cry out in horror. "You brought this on yourself, you.. you traitor!"
Spottedpaw gasped. "Please... please let me up. You're my only sister! Tell me you're just.. fooling around." She struggled beneath her sister's grip, but couldn't fight her way out. "I don't want to fight you. Please..." The last word came out as a hoarse whisper.
Tanglepaw knew what she had to do. "No. You will never be your old self. I could never bring myself to trust you." She spat, and with that, plunged her fangs into Spottedpaw's neck. The taste of blood overwhelmed her senses, and her sister's struggling began to die down. At last, when the cat went limp, Dappledpaw unclenched her teeth from her neck. She stared down at her dead sister. The cat's eyes were glazed over, and her expression was one of pure horror. Blood ran from Spottedpaw's neck, forming a puddle of red liquid underneath her.
Realization crept through Tanglepaw's fur. What have I done?! She gasped out loud. Her chest felt tight, and it seemed hard to breath. She didn't know how much time had passed. Eventually, Tanglepaw crept away from her cat, thinking that if any cat saw her there, they would know that she had killed Spottedpaw. Anger suddenly over-took the cat as she climbed up a tree. Her whole body quivered as she finally, after all of these moons, realized. It was Sandclaw who had betrayed her, who had poisoned her mind.
But now, it was too late.

Tanglefur
"How will you ever live with yourself?"
She didn't even know why she was named a warrior. Of course, no one else knew what she had done. Though, a few times, her mother had given her a few suspecting glances, in which she had returned with hostile glares. Tanglefur was done. She was done. She was done dealing with her mother anymore. She should have killed that piece of crowfood, instead of her innocent sister. And that thought would always haunt her.
"This is what you deserve, no matter how bad it may be."
Tanglefur didn't deserve it. She didn't deserve her new name, the honor, the tattoo that StarClan had given her. Well, not that she believed in StarClan any more than before. Bramblepaw (Brambletooth) wasn't a part of the picture any longer, and hadn't been for some time. He had given up on her long ago, and had grew disgusted with his sister. Now, Tanglefur is completely lonely. She knows that she deserves it, too. It was a punishment, probably for the rest of her life. She could never go back, never re-live her life and take back everything that had happened. Never.
