Name: Honeywhisker
Rank: Deputy
Gender: She-cat
Age: 36 moons
Clan: PaleClan
Beliefs: Ah, StarClan. Those fox-hearted ancestors. They had power! Why didn't they stop the storm? Why didn't they save the Clans? In reality, Honeywhisker blames herself for not being strong enough to protect her friends and family. Like any guilty, selfish cat, she pushed the blame onto someone else, desperate to relieve herself of the pain--in this case, StarClan. They betrayed the Clans, Honeywhisker thinks bitterly, although she knows their warrior ancestors are not the ones to blame. While she blames StarClan, she is also desperate to look to them for comfort. You could say her opinions on StarClan are very oscillating.
Apprentice: None, currently.
Kin: Finchfur(mother), killed by badger; Thornfang(father), died after the storm from weakness and injuries
Mate: Forbidden(well, kind of xD).
Appearance: Honeywhisker has creamy, golden-brown colored fur. Her eyes are pale orange-yellow. She has long droopy whiskers and semi-small ears on her head. She has the typical lithe, lean build of a PaleClan cat. Honeywhisker isn't exactly what you'd call 'small,' but her size isn't quite as big as the average Clan cat. Her small paws indicate that she was never going to grow very big anyways, while at the same time implying that she is a swift runner, which makes her an excellent hunter, maybe even one of the best in the Clan--maybe. Fighting, though...well, she can use her size as an advantage, but it can also be a weakness; let's just say Honeywhisker is an average fighter. Scars and scratches lace her body; while she managed to escape some of the more serious injuries from the storm, she certainly didn't escape unscratched.
Personality: Honeywhisker, while an excellent and efficient deputy, might not be the most reliable cat around. Indeed, she can be considered selfish, although she has tried to change. She would never betray her Clan, never, but certain cats in the Clans...that's a different story. She would flee from a battle if it meant saving herself. Honeywhisker knows she's selfish, though, but that just makes her regret her decisions.
She is confident in her abilities, but when it comes to making important decisions, she wavers. She can be quite indecisive when it comes to these things, and, again, she often regrets her decisions in the end. She is very, very open-minded and can easily be persuaded to change her made, a great weakness if an enemy were to find out of this trait and manipulate her.
As she may one day be the leader of PaleClan, Honeywhisker tries her best and is a loyal cat through and through, even if it may not seem like it at times. Give her a task and she'll complete it, even if it kills her.
On the outside, Honeywhisker most likely seems like a fairly cheerful deputy, but if you get to know her, you know that's not true. Every day she has to keep the pain that built over the moons under a tight hold. It seems as if she just can't let go of the past.
History: Honeykit was the only kit in her mother's litter, and perhaps that's what made her selfish; she didn't have a sibling to grow and learn with, after all. But she had a normal upraising, though, and became Honeypaw at her sixth moon like all the other kits.
One day Honeypaw was on patrol with her mother, Finchfur, and a couple other warriors. They stumbled across a badger attempting to settle in the territory, which, startled, attacked them. Hoenypaw joined the fight, but after nearly having her neck snapped by the badger's heavy, clumsy paw, panicked and fled, leaving the other warriors to their fate. As it turned out, the warriors managed to drive the badger away, but the badger had killed Finchfur. Distraught, Honeypaw entered a short period of isolation. Only the gentle words of her kind mentor and her father persuaded her to start training again. Determined, Honeypaw started training twice as hard to make up for lost time and was named Honeywhisker at 15 moons old and was named deputy shortly after her first apprentice was made a warrior.
Then, the storm struck. Honeywhisker just barely managed to restrain herself from fleeing, staying with the Clan and risking her life to help the weaker cats along. For once, she thinks, she did something she could be proud of. However, her father, who was growing old, was gravely injured and died soon after the Clans settled in their new territory. It was a hard blow to Honeywhisker's heart, but she managed to cope. When she's with her Clan mates, it's not that bad, but when she's alone, she can't help but dwell on the past. Swallowing her grief, Honeywhisker continues to serve as PaleClan's deputy.
Picture: Like with Shadowfur, I'll probably draw one...later. xD
Roleplay Example: "The following cats are on to go on the dawn patrol tomorrow," Honeywhisker called, her voice ringing throughout the camp. She then proceeded to recite the names of the cats scheduled to go on patrol. Her voice started to waver, but she forced it steady and lowered her head, padding slowly back to the edge of the camp where she usually slept.
The deputy flipped over onto her back and stared up at the sky, stars reflected off of her wide orange-yellow eyes. /If StarClan really are up there,/ she thought sadly, not for the first time, /why didn't they stop the storm?/ Her heart ached whenever she thought of her parents. She blinked slowly, trying desperately to push the feelings away. But no matter what the faces of her mother and father loomed in her mind. She sighed softly and rolled onto her side.
"I wish I could go back in time," she muttered bitterly. "And change the past." She always thought that, but all it seemed to do was deepen her pain. Honeywhisker sighed again and curled up, ready for another restless night with little sleep.
