Appearance:
To start, Dapplefur has a short coat. It's not long, and it isn't too thick. This is a good advantage for swimming; her fur doesn't take long to dry, like long-haired cats.
Both ears - which are average-sized - are midnight black. Most of her forehead is black, too, except for two ginger patches above each eye. The rest of her face is white. Her neck, chest and forelegs are also white, as well as her hind legs. On her back is a mixture of black and ginger splotches, and her tail is black with a little ginger.
Now for the eyes - which are both a penetrating but pale green colour. And if you get close enough, you can just about distinguish the golden flecks in her eyes.
Her frame is quite small and dainty, slender but with muscles like steel. Dapplefur's agile build allows her to be a fast runner, which is a good advantage. She may not be large and powerful, but she is quick and clever.
All in all, Dapplefur is quite an attractive cat.
Personality:
Dapplefur is not what you would call the 'sweet and gentle' cat.
Her personality is very mixed. Sometimes, she is calm and relaxed, speaking to others in a cool tone. She can be cheery and easily enthusiastic; sometimes she even acts like a kit.
However, if a cat managed to say the wrong thing to her, her personality can change in less than a heartbeat. She could go from sweet to furious, arrogant and snappy. Dapplefur has a quick temper, and has a sharp tongue when her temper is pushed. She can be very impatient at times, and can snap out when not intended.
Dapplefur was once ambitious. She wanted to be deputy from a very young age, but when she grew up she learned the responsibilities it would take, and decided to give up on her ambition. Instead she loves being a loyal and dedicated warrior.
When the storm came, Dapplefur became unusually quiet to those around her. Though she is fiercly protective over the ones she loves and cares about, the storm seemed to warp her mind into endless turmoil and confusion. So many questions met her, the main being: where were StarClan?
Now, Dapplefur hardly lets her thoughts out. Though she is still loyal and friendly, she isn't often found speaking to other cats anymore and instead likes spending time alone, to think things through.
History:
Born into JayClan as an only kit, Dapplefur grew up to be rather lonely. Her mother, Heatherstorm, loved her dearly, but her father Oakwhisker didn't much care for either of them. He always stared at Dapplefur as if he were staring straight through her, which opened up a lonely void deep inside of her.
When Dapplefur became an apprentice - obviously by the name Dapplepaw - Heatherstorm was ferociously proud. Oakwhisker didn't seem to care. Her mentor was Kestrelfur, who taught her everything she knew.
One day in Dapplefur's apprenticeship, she was out on patrol with Kestrelfur and Oakwhisker. After their long day, they were heading home when they came across a badger. Trapped, they had to fight. Oakwhisker, Kestrelfur and Dapplefur managed to fight it off, but they were all tired and injured. To Dapplefur's dismay, her father was the worst injured, and later on he was dying.
She still remembers his exact words: Dapplepaw, I once didn't care for you. But now I see that you are a great addition to the Clan. Work hard and make me proud while I'm watching over you... in StarClan. And then he was dead.
Moons passed. Dapplefur was a warrior when the storm happened, and her mother was killed. She vaguely managed to escape, but most of her faith in StarClan was drained. Now she is still loyal to her Clan, but has so many doubts.
No matter what, she will always be a part of JayClan; StarClan or no StarClan, life itself could not change that.

Roleplay Example:
The forest was bathed in a silver sheen of moonlight. Silverpelt glittered proudly across the indigo sky, shining down on the cats of JayClan as they slipped away into their dens for a good night's rest.
One cat did not move from her position. She sat in the center of camp, her head raised to stare at the many silver stars. Her tortoiseshell-and-white fur was touched to a pale silver in the moonlight, and her pale green eyes reflected the quarter-moon.
StarClan, are you with us now? the JayClan warrior thought, her eyes narrowed to slits. The powerful stretch of stars blazed before her; two in particular seemed to shine more than the rest.
The she-cat knew exactly which StarClan warriors they were. Heatherstorm and Oakwhisker, her dead parents.
But did she really still believe in her ancestors? When the storm came, StarClan had sent no signs - as far as she knew. They had been quiet for moons, and even when the storm was happening, they seemed far off and distant.
Without warning a grey cloud began to drift over the moon, plunging the camp into darkness. Slowly, the warrior rose to her paws and began to trot slowly to the warriors' den. She pushed her way inside, moving away from the warriors that were curling up and shutting their eyes or chatting quietly together.
"Dapplefur?" a voice murmured nearby. The tortoiseshell-and-white cat looked around, only to find a warrior with his eyes half-closed. Dapplefur ignored him and rested her head on her paws, but she knew sleep was far away.
StarClan seemed so far away right now.
