"JayClan and PaleClan"
First off, how'd those names come about?
"have finally found a new territory after the tornado ravaged their old home of so many years."
So tornados weren't normal weather there? What changed? Did the earth tilt on its axis? Or was this tornado somehow worse than usual?
"But surviving on the road"
So they left? And are traveling? Why couldn't they stay?
"A rift between the two upset Clans still exists,"
Why's that?
"Reedstripe, PaleClan's medicine cat, certainly received a prophecy, although for his own reasons, he never bothered to reveal it, a regrettable decision."
So what were his reasons?
"The two Clans’ half-moon journey has brought in a few other displaced cats, whose addition to the group is debated as well."
They met some random cats and let them join? Why would they do that?

First off, how'd those names come about? -- Not really set in stone yet. Likely because JayClan's territory had a river whose color was as bright blue as the jays who populated their forest. And PaleClan's land was covered in pale brown grass. Or maybe the founding leaders were just called Jaystar and Palestar. :D
So tornados weren't normal weather there? What changed? Did the earth tilt on its axis? Or was this tornado somehow worse than usual? -- No, tornados aren't uncommon in the region. There just hadn't been one to hit the Clan's area in a long time, though.
So they left? And are traveling? Why couldn't they stay? -- Same reason the cats in the books couldn't. Their territory was wrecked, and all the prey had left.
Why's that? -- Because some are a bit reluctant to utterly trust cats they've been rivals/enemies with for a long time.
So what were his reasons? -- That's a secret. C:
They met some random cats and let them join? Why would they do that? -- Well, the population was pretty weak, and some cats were more open-minded than others. And I suppose they would at least make sure they wouldn't all slit their throats in their sleep.

"Their territory was wrecked, and all the prey had left."
Just packed up and headed out? Why would the prey leave?
"Because some are a bit reluctant to utterly trust cats they've been rivals/enemies with for a long time."
Why have they been rivals and enemies?
"That's a secret."
Why is it a secret?

Just packed up and headed out? Why would the prey leave? -- Because /their/ homes and food sources got wrecked. :D
Why have they been rivals and enemies? -- Because they're separate Clans? o-o
Why is it a secret? -- Because it makes roleplay better when we have people going with their own imagination and maybe a few hints instead of trying to have their cats work around what they themselves know. And, sometimes people like to have their cats be special and 'know' because of some... amazing brainwave or something. >.>

Why have they been rivals and enemies?
-x-
The natural Clan...thingymajigger. /fail Since they're loyal to their own Clans, they're rivals with the other.
Why is it a secret?
-x-
Because...it is? D:
their cats be special and 'know' because of some... amazing brainwave or something. >.>

You mean 'cause they're omniscient? :D

"Because /their/ homes and food sources got wrecked."
Okay. What prey used to live there and what did it feed on?
"they're separate Clans"
I know they're separate Clans. So why are they enemies?
"Because it makes roleplay better when we have people going with their own imagination and maybe a few hints"
But I thought the cats didn't know there was a prophecy at all, so people wouldn't have to think about it for the role play?
"And, sometimes people like to have their cats be special and 'know' because of some... amazing brainwave or something."
You know what I do to those people? I kick them out. :D

"I know they're separate Clans. So why are they enemies?"
Because they're not allies...? -thunderbolt'd-
"But I thought the cats didn't know there was a prophecy at all, so people wouldn't have to think about it for the role play?"
Yeah, but we could foreshadow it and the smarticle cats might get suspicious and perhaps figure it out? :D;
"You know what I do to those people? I kick them out. :D"
Very nice. xD

Okay. What prey used to live there and what did it feed on? -- Birds (probably took flight to better areas), squirrels (ate nuts, likely), mice (seeds and whatever), voles (same), fish (not sure, but they lived in the river, which got polluted by debris) and rabbits (grass). But with the huge tornado wrecking the place, most probably just fled from the danger, and since squirrels or mice probably couldn't find much among the wreckage... yeah. And the wind probably uprooted a lot of grass and stuff.
I know they're separate Clans. So why are they enemies? -- Because separate Clans are generally enemies/rivals at times? o.o;;
But I thought the cats didn't know there was a prophecy at all, so people wouldn't have to think about it for the role play? -- Well, like Anika said, some could begin to suspect.
You know what I do to those people? I kick them out. :D -- :D

Y'all are so intimidating with all your big admin stars.
"Yeah, but we could foreshadow it" How would you do that? "Birds (probably took flight to better areas)," Bird eat taking flight? I thought they ate worms or something.
"squirrels (ate nuts, likely)," Why weren't there any more nuts?
"mice (seeds and whatever), voles (same)," Why weren't there any more seeds or whatever?
"fish (not sure, but they lived in the river, which got polluted by debris)" Debris meaning branches and stuff? Can't they just swim around that?
"But with the huge tornado wrecking the place, most probably just fled from the danger," They escaped the tornado's path. Why didn't they come back? Did the tornado keep going back and forth in the same concentrated area like an eraser?
"And the wind probably uprooted a lot of grass and stuff." Wind can uproot grass?
"Because separate Clans are generally enemies/rivals at times?" For what reason?

Y'all are so intimidating with all your big admin stars. -- Mmhm. ;D
How would you do that? -- Magic writing skills. (:
Bird eat taking flight? I thought they ate worms or something. -- The birds themselves probably left.
Why weren't there any more nuts? -- Because suddenly a lot of their trees are on the ground, burying each other, rotting, and not producing any more nuts.
Why weren't there any more seeds or whatever? -- Crap, scratch that. Mice and voles eat most edible things. Including seeds, by the way. Anyway. A lot of plants would have been thrown about, like before.
"fish (not sure, but they lived in the river, which got polluted by debris)" Debris meaning branches and stuff? Can't they just swim around that? -- Well sure, but they've likely moved from the clouded crap water to other areas. And even if they haven't, they probably will have moved to the deeper area, since the shallows will be crammed. So cats will have difficulty fishing for them, no?
They escaped the tornado's path. Why didn't they come back? -- Because the food wasn't coming back anytime soon.
Wind can uproot grass? -- Heck, sure it can.
For what reason? -- Because of competition for food and territory, and the times when they'll fight over it?

"Magic writing skills. (:"
I don't believe in magic. How would you foreshadow something that already happened?
"The birds themselves probably left."
Why would they leave?
"Because suddenly a lot of their trees are on the ground, burying each other, rotting, and not producing any more nuts."
What about the other trees? Did they pack up and leave, too?
"Crap, scratch that. Mice and voles eat most edible things. Including seeds, by the way. Anyway. A lot of plants would have been thrown about, like before."
What about the other plants?
"Well sure, but they've likely moved from the clouded crap water to other areas."
So... the fish got up and left? Or what?
"And even if they haven't, they probably will have moved to the deeper area, since the shallows will be crammed. So cats will have difficulty fishing for them, no?"
This is true.
"Because the food wasn't coming back anytime soon."
The food packed up and left?
"Heck, sure it can."
Proof?
"Because of competition for food and territory, and the times when they'll fight over it?"
Why would they need to compete?

"How would you foreshadow something that already happened?"
What about if we 'hindshadow' it? /fail
"Why would they leave?"
Because they're food is gone...? >>;
"So... the fish got up and left? Or what?"
They swam?
"The food packed up and left?"
The prey left, yes. 'Cause...of the things Elena mentioned earlier. D:
"Proof?"
Uhm. =D; -googles- Tornadoes cause damage to properties by ... If you have a property that is just flat land and has grass and lots of trees then the Tornado would uproot trees and possibly bring up part of the ground. ... That count? >>
"Why would they need to compete? "
Because sometimes, like in leaf-bare, there's not quite enough prey to support the Clans, so they need to defend their borders while fighting for territory so they can get enough prey to feed their Clan, thus making them rivals?

I don't believe in magic. How would you foreshadow something that already happened? -- Blaaah. ): Hindshadow.
Why would they leave? -- Well, number one, it was already autumn, and two, their food sources were being cut in the meantime.
What about the other trees? Did they pack up and leave, too? -- Seeing as the trees were probably stopping bearing fruit/nuts whatever since it was already autumn, they were probably out of production anyway. The squirrels had their homes and stores of food in their nests, which probably got smashed, so they had a good chance of dying too. And even if some trees were left alright to support a few squirrels, it likely wasn't enough to keep up the Clans, especially right before winter.
What about the other plants? -- The few that would have been left alright again, wouldn't have been enough to support enough mice/voles to support the cats before winter.
So... the fish got up and left? Or what? -- Swam away, yep. (:
The food packed up and left? -- Yes it did.
Proof? -- -googles- "Grass raining from above, most likely pulled from the fields the tornado ..." "tornado pulled dirt and grass up from the ground about 18 in off the ground ..." "We saw were the grass was pulled up by the roots;"
Why would they need to compete? -- Like Anika said, shortages in winter. Then, there are also the times where many kits are born, and the cats don't feel like doing the whole Malthusian cycle thing.

"What about if we 'hindshadow' it?" -- How would you do that?
"Because they're food is gone...?" -- What do birds eat? Worms, right? Why would the worms be gone?
"They swam?" -- Upstream or downstream?
"The prey left, yes. 'Cause...of the things Elena mentioned earlier. D:" -- How would the prey's food leave?
"Because sometimes, like in leaf-bare, there's not quite enough prey to support the Clans, so they need to defend their borders while fighting for territory so they can get enough prey to feed their Clan, thus making them rivals?" -- Why can't they expand away from each other instead of toward each other?
"Seeing as the trees were probably stopping bearing fruit/nuts whatever since it was already autumn, they were probably out of production anyway. I thought they buried it. How would it be smashed?
"The few that would have been left alright again, wouldn't have been enough to support enough mice/voles to support the cats before winter." -- So you're saying the tornado swept back and forth in a concentrated area like an eraser? Don't they tend to go in lines?
"Yes they did." -- By food, I mean plants. I don't think you mean the plants packed up and left.
"Grass raining from above, most likely pulled from the fields the tornado ..." "tornado pulled dirt and grass up from the ground about 18 in off the ground ..." "We saw were the grass was pulled up by the roots;" -- Mmkay.

"How would you do that?"
Reedstripe's actions and stuff can hint about what happened?
"What do birds eat? Worms, right? Why would the worms be gone?" Weeell...While the tornado uprooted the grass they also killed the worms? Plus, the birds probably flew somewhere safer when the tornado hit.
"Upstream or downstream?"
Uhm...down? No, up! No...is this a trick question? >>
"How would the prey's food leave?"
It...got...destroyed, perhaps? ;
"Why can't they expand away from each other instead of toward each other?"
Boundary issues, perhaps? One Clan might not be able to expand one way because there's a twolegplace...and...stuff.
"Squirrels store food in their nests? I thought they buried it. How would it be smashed?"
If the squirrels buried them, trees that were uprooted could have fallen on top of the food, cutting off access to it.
"So you're saying the tornado swept back and forth in a concentrated area like an eraser? Don't they tend to go in lines?"
Well, it probably cut straight through the territory and the force of it would have destroyed a considerable amount of territory. And surviving prey would probably have fled.
"By food, I mean plants. I don't think you mean the plants packed up and left."
The plants got destroyed by the tornado?
"...what? "
Uhm...I second that. xD
